Pessimist, Optimist, Realist

"The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails." -Writer, William Arthur Ward

Allow me to reinterpret that clever bit of writing to relate to the job hunt.

"The pessimistic job hunter laments that no one wants to hire someone  (over a certain age, under a certain age, of a certain creed, race, denomination, colour, or multi-hued and tatooed).

The optimist changes no tactics, investigates no improvements as he or she continues bumbling along, hoping for a break, expecting something better while doing the same thing over and over.

The realistic optimist? Ah, now this clever person searches for better answers or asks for help - this person knows his or her limits, has faith that a better answer exists, and seeks it out."
