Career Matrix, Pros and Cons

Years ago, faced with a BHAD - Big Hairy Audcious Decision - I grabbed a sheet of paper, and wrote down pros and cons. I had to see for myself where the best outcome lay.

This kind of approach, renamed a matrix and written about in the Harvard Business Review, works for deciding the best of two or three options - all seemingly equally good - as well.

Here's the link to the article:

Keep this in mind when faced with a monumental career decision - ascribe a few numbers, add them up, and voila! A decision made easier. The tough part is to come up with a thorough list of questions or categories! (There's often a little catch ... )

The list here doesn't include one of my "must-haves" when it comes to work - a working environment that has a window. I don't function in window-less environments. We all have our peculiarities, and that one is mine!
